The Meadows is a 5-storey, 247,111 sq. ft. assisted-living residence located in the Sage Creek community of Winnipeg. The development includes 179 residential units designed to support a modern and comfortable senior living environment.

DELTABEAM® composite beams were utilized in selected areas of the structure—primarily through the central portions of the building—where longer spans and increased loading demands were present. Working in combination with hollowcore slabs, the system provided the required capacity while maintaining an efficient floor profile across the building.

This approach allowed the design to respond to varying load conditions without introducing unnecessary depth throughout. The targeted use of DELTABEAM® supported more efficient use of space while helping simplify coordination with other building systems.

The project was developed by Janzen Projects. Raymond S. C. Wan Architect served as the architect, with structural engineering by Crosier Kilgour & Partners and Concord Projects was the general contractor. Phoenix Ironworks supplied and erected the structural steel, while Multicrete Precast provided the hollowcore slabs.

Completed in 2025, The Meadows highlights how DELTABEAM® can be used where it’s needed most—helping optimize space while maintaining an efficient overall building profile.
