New Car Park located near National Institute of Oncology will provide almost 600 parking spaces for its patients.

Patients of the Warsaw Institute had been struggling with a lack of parking spaces for years. The initial design of the parking facility was based on traditional cast-in-place concrete technology. The general contractor, in cooperation with Pekabex and Peikko, redesigned the structure using precast reinforced concrete elements. Thanks to the use of precast components, the structure was erected in a short time while maintaining the highest standards of quality and durability. Prefabrication also helped minimize construction disruptions to the functioning hospital and ensured precise execution of structural elements.

Peikko supplied 33 DELTABEAM® Composite Beams along with PCs® connectors for the parking structure. A non-standard solution in this project was the beam-to-column connection, which required a custom design — a configuration not previously used in other projects. Because DELTABEAM® is concreted on-site, it was possible to incorporate additional steel components into the beam. This solved the structural challenge and made Peikko’s solution the optimal choice.

The new parking facility is a significant improvement that supports the efficient operation of the medical center and enhances comfort for its users.
