The cinema, which will be part of BROEN shopping mall, becomes an extension to the 1st floor above parking lots of the center. Guests will be led through a short glass walk from BROEN to the extension and the 8 modern cinemas with more than 650 seats all together.
The cinema center is built on columns across the parking lot and along with the ramp to the parking lot of BROEN. It’s a complicated task which in many ways interfere with the environment. The biggest challenge is to keep the ramp to BROEN's parking spaces open throughout the construction period and therefore, it was decided, that the part built over the ramp would be built during the night.
Below you can read what Mogens Espensen, construction manager at NEM BYG, has to say about the project and the cooperation with Peikko.
"When constructing the new cinema center in Esbjerg, we have chosen to complete the floor construction using composite beams. The Primary reason for using composite beams is to simplify the undercladding of the building, by avoiding concrete consoles under the hollowcore slabs.
In relation to our procurement of beams, Peikko's DELTABEAM® composite beams appeared to be the right solution, and when doing the projecting, this was only confirmed.
During the design phase we found that the building, which looked fairly simple on the architectural drawings, had many varying assembly details. Details that meant that both the designers and the production at Peikko should be extremely careful.
Now that the beams are mounted, we can tell that we succeeded – There were a few small insignificant slips, which only meant that we also got to experience Peikko's great solution readiness.
So all together, we must say that our cooperation with Peikko has been very positive."
