The building of a huge IKEA-market in Germany in Frankfurt/Nieder-Eschbach was started in April 2006 with a target to have the opening in January 2007. One of the most important aspects in realizing this project was the limited building time of 8 months. For this reason the company Züblin Ed. made a very special suggestion: to set the precast columns directly on the bored piles and connect these together with column shoes and anchor bolts. This novel solution was made possible by the close co-operation of Peikko Deutschland GmbH.
