A forerunner actively shapes the industry

Being a forerunner implies that Peikko needs to actively work on shaping the future of the construction industry. This is why Peikko invests a significant portion of its product development resources in basic research.

Meet us in Krakow, Poland!

Headed bars are an innovative reinforcement and anchorage technology offering numerous practical benefits to the users of Peikko products. Over the past couple of years, Peikko has initiated several research programs aimed at optimizing the design of headed bars and at demonstrating new applications for them. Such programs typically include basic experimental research that is used to create new knowledge as well as applied research that translates into practical design recommendations and approvals of Peikko products. Examples of such research projects are the optimization of the design of WELDA anchor plates (in collaboration with the University of Stuttgart, Germany), development of new punching reinforcement systems (in collaboration with EPFL Lausanne, Switzerland) or the experimental assessment of short headed bars in beam to column joints (in collaboration with the University of Zilina, Slovakia).

Four technical papers authored or co-authored by members of Peikko’s product development teams will be presented at the symposium ‘Concrete  -  innovations in materials, design and structures’, organized by The International Federation for Structural Concrete, fib, in Krakow, Poland  in May 2019. These papers deal with the innovative applications of headed bars in concrete structures. Peikko’s contributions to the symposium will provide new insights into the design of headed bars and propose improvements to the next generation of Eurocodes. Meet us in Krakow, where we will share information about reinforcement and anchorage technology with you!
